The price registration system (SRP) is a procedure that has been used for a long time by the direct and indirect Public Administration of all Federation entities, with a view to acquiring goods and contracting the provision of services. The advantages resulting from its application have made the SRP an instrument used very frequently by the Public Authorities. The system makes it possible to buy in installments, acquire only what is necessary and avoid wasting public resources, since there is no need, for example, to stock up on all the medicine or all the school meals to be used during the year, which helps prevent products from expiring in the administration's stocks. For these reasons, Law 8.666/1993 establishes the preference for purchasing through the SRP (art. 15, inc. II). In the same vein, Law No. 14.133/2021 (the new law on bids and administrative contracts).
