Code of Conduct

The Revista do TRF da 3ª Região is committed to ethics and the quality of its publications. As a result, it prescribes standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the publication, whether in relation to the members of the Editorial Board, the body of referees, the editorial team of the Journal's Office, or the authors. In addition to following the practices listed below, all authors have a duty to report any deviant behavior.

AUTHORS' DUTIES:

Declaration of Copyright: By submitting articles to the Journal, authors declare that they are the copyright holders and are exclusively responsible for any claims related to such rights, as well as authorizing the Journal, free of charge, to publish said texts in any medium, without limitations as to term, territory or any other, including the indexing platforms of scientific journals in which the Journal may be indexed. Therefore, no royalties or any remuneration will be due for the publication of works in the Revista do TRF da 3ª Região, in any type of printed or electronic media.

Authorship: The article may be signed by a maximum of 03 (three) authors. Authorship of the manuscript should be restricted to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the study presented. All those who have made substantial contributions should be listed as co-authors. All co-authors must approve the final version of the article and agree to its submission to the journal.

Unpublished: Authors must ensure that their work is unpublished in Brazil, i.e. that it has not previously been published in full or even in part. In addition, authors should not submit the same article simultaneously for evaluation in more than one journal. After publication in the Revista do TRF da 3ª Região, articles may be published in other media, provided that the original publication is cited as the source.

Originality: Authors must guarantee that their work is entirely original. If they have used the work of other authors, they must explain the references. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical and unacceptable editorial behavior.

Acknowledgment of source: Authors must respect the provisions of Law No. 9.610/1998, duly citing all publications relevant to the preparation of the article submitted to the Journal. Information obtained privately or confidentially, such as in conversations, correspondence or discussions with third parties, should not be reported without the express written authorization of the respective sources. Any article with evidence of copyright infringement will not be published.

Prior Ethics Committee approval: If the research involves humans or animals, authors must ensure that the paper contains a statement that all procedures have been carried out in compliance with the relevant laws and institutional guidelines and that the appropriate institutional committees have approved them.

Conflict of interest: All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed. Authors must ensure that there is no conflict of interest, financial or otherwise, which could be considered as a possible influence on the interpretation or conclusions presented in their work.

Notification of errors: Authors who discover a significant inaccuracy or error in their work must immediately notify the Journal's editorial team and cooperate in correcting or deleting the article.

Violation of submission rules: By submitting an article, the authors express their knowledge of and agreement with the "Editorial Guidelines", the "Code of Conduct", the "Conditions for Submission", the "Guidelines for Authors" and the "Evaluation Process", as well as adhering to the unpublished/originality clause and are aware that, if any irregularity is identified, the text will be immediately withdrawn from the Journal, with the information that "the article was withdrawn for violation of the Ethics Policy and the Guidelines for good practice in publishing", and any unlawful act will be reported to the competent authorities.

Academic and Scientific Responsibility: The opinions expressed and the integrity of the content of the articles published are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not reflect the opinion of the Federal Court of Appeals of the 3rd Region, the Editorial Board or the Journal's Office.

DUTIES OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD, THE BOARD OF REFEREES AND THE EDITORIAL TEAM OF THE JOURNAL'S OFFICE:

Objectivity: The analysis of submissions must be conducted objectively. The evaluation must take into account the content, without any discrimination related to the race, age, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, social class, nationality or political philosophy of the authors. The guidelines issued to authors must be clear and well-founded, in order to help improve the articles submitted to the Journal, as well as in making the final editorial decision.

Confidentiality: All submissions should be treated as confidential documents, the content of which should not be shared. Privileged information or ideas obtained through the analysis of submissions must be kept confidential and must not be used for personal gain.

Conflict of interest: Members of the Journal's editorial team and referees must refrain from evaluating submissions in relation to which they know they have a conflict of interest, due to competitive, collaborative or other forms of connection with any of the authors, institutions or themes that are related to the articles.

Commitment: Any referee who does not feel qualified to evaluate the article they have been assigned, or knows that it will not be possible to carry out their evaluation within the indicated timeframe, should notify the editorial team of the Journal's Office immediately, as rapid communication facilitates the continuity of the editorial flow, without causing harm to the authors.

Cooperation: Members of the Journal's editorial team and referees must warn of similarities between the article being evaluated and any other published work of which they are aware, as well as any other unethical manifestation identified at any time by anyone, providing sufficient information and evidence for the respective verification procedure to be initiated.

Duties in relation to unethical behavior: Editors have a duty to inform or notify authors or reviewers when there has been a misunderstanding or misapplication of acceptable ethical standards, guaranteeing due right of reply. At the end of the verification procedure, the editors may formally withdraw the publication from the journal. The identification of any illegal act will be reported to the competent authorities.

Privacy Policy: All personal data provided to the Journal will be used exclusively for the services provided by this publication and will not be made available for other purposes.
